A BandLab mastering alternative
BandLab offers free song mastering, so the honest question is whether you need anything else. This page says when you do not, what we could confirm on their site, and what MasteringKit does differently.
Who should pick which
BandLab
- You want free mastering and no plan to pay for anything. BandLab advertises free song mastering with presets.
- You are already working in BandLab. Mastering sits next to the rest of the platform.
- You have a video, not just audio. Its page says you can import audio or video files and export video from the mobile app.
MasteringKit
- You want finer control. We offer 11 controls and a six-band EQ on top of the engineer you choose.
- You want to describe the sound in words or master against a reference track (paid plans).
- You want a preview you can judge against your original before deciding, and a clear paid download tier.

How MasteringKit differs
We are a mastering tool, not a platform. There is no studio, social feed or video to learn. You upload a mix, listen, adjust and download.
You choose an engineer such as Warm analog, then change loudness, ceiling, stereo width, tape, de-esser and more, with a six-band EQ. That is more to adjust than a preset and an intensity knob, which may be more than you need.
Full downloads cost money here. If free is your priority, BandLab is the better fit. If you want to compare and tune before paying, try our free preview.
BandLab mastering questions
Its mastering page advertises free song mastering with presets and a membership for unlimited mastering and customization. Check the page for what is included today.
For more control: six engineer styles, 11 controls and a six-band EQ, plus reference and prompt mastering on paid plans. If those do not matter to you, BandLab may be enough.
The 30-second preview, controls and comparison are free with no account. Downloading the full track needs Unlimited or Unlimited Plus.
Unlimited is $14 a month or $43 a year. Unlimited Plus is $22 a month or $65 a year. We do not list BandLab’s membership price.
Plus supports batch mastering of up to 10 tracks. Unlimited masters one track at a time.
WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, M4A, OGG. Paid plans download WAV 24-bit and MP3 320.
